PK Porthcurno Museum of Global Communication
Penzance, CornwallAbout PK Porthcurno Museum of Global Communication
Explore the science that made global communications possible! From the first undersea telegraph cables brought ashore at Porthcurno 150 years ago, to the fascinating world of fibre optics and the internet! Now is your chance to discover how today’s digital communications are changing the world forever. Did you know this is the UK’s only dedicated museum of global communications? Come and discover the amazing story of our connected world in the place where it all started! You'll find a series of interactive exhibits and displays illustrating the story of our communications revolution, while in the demonstration zone friendly staff discuss and demonstrate some of the museum’s original working equipment. Then go underground and explore the top-secret bunker that hid the Porthcurno Telegraph Station in World War Two, where Allied communications were protected by armed guards and bomb-proof doors!
