Attraction Information
Lullingstone Castle and The World Garden is set within 120 acres of beautiful Kent countryside, an ideal place for all the family to relax and enjoy a picnic on the lush green lawns or a treat in the castle marquee!
Home to the Hart-Dyke family, Tom Hart Dyke is the creator of The World Garden and an inspiration to the young; he started early aged 3, with a trowel and a packet of carrot seeds with the encouragement of his granny and never looked back!
There is much to see, smell, touch and marvel at in the World Garden, especially if you are one of our younger visitors. There are lots of wacky sculptures to look out for as you travel around the world; watch out for Colin the Cobra, totem poles, mini waterfalls and the silver tree made from 51km of wire. Don't miss our new mirror garden; fun for all the family, each one changing your shape and size!
The cactus house aptly named Hot and Spiky - has some really unusual specimens including 'alien eggs' and a plant that actually smells of dog pooh, not forgetting our active mini volcano that is only one click away from erupting!
To help children find their way around the World Garden, we have created a Plant Hunter Quiz for the older children or as we prefer to call them our intrepid plant hunters.
Indoor fun includes a House Quiz allows children to unravel some of Lullingstone's mysteries and the chance to see the famous TV ‘Meerkats' who filmed on location here! House Tours at 2pm and on all special events it's an open house.
