Lisvane & Llanishen Reservoirs are part of a group of exciting Dwr Cymru Welsh Water Adventure sites located across South Wales. A major redevelopment has seen the area improved and upgraded ensuring enjoyment for visitors now and future generations. Welsh Water's plan is for Lisvane and Llanishen Reservoirs to become a thriving community space
With spectacular views of the countryside and a variety of leisure activities available. This visitor attraction is a community hub for health and well being.
Things To Do
Water Sport Activities
A range of water activities are available. Test your ability on canoes, kayaks and paddle boards. You can even set sail on a boat and enjoy the panoramic views of the surrounding reservoir and lush greenery.
Becoming increasingly popular over recent years open-water swimming is also an activity to try here. Just grab your wet suit and enjoy a refreshing dip! The tuition provided is great if you are looking to improve your water sports skills or gain confidence to try something new.
Nature trail and Bird Hide
The reservoir grassland, woodland and waterside habitats offer a welcoming environment for lots of wildlife. A lovely family activity all year round is to follow one of the Welsh Water nature trails and explore the surrounding countryside. What animals and plants will you spot?
There's access to bird hides on the northern side of Lisvane Reservoir providing a peaceful spot for birdwatching. An oasis of calm, here you can take a moment to enjoy being surrounded by nature. You can also expect to see many different species of birds including Swallows, House Martins and Owls.
Seasonal Events
There is a programme of seasonal events throughout the year including Christmas and Summer. You could even spot Santa making a visit!
Visitor Centre and Cafe
A cafe with views of the water and balcony offers a delicious menu. Choose from hot meals or light snack options enjoyed al fresco or in the light and airy dining area. There is also a 'Grab & Go' takeaway counter downstairs.
