Castell Coch
Cardiff, Glamorgan and CardiffAbout Castell Coch
While resting on ancient foundations, Castell Coch (Red Castle) is relatively modern, the by-product of a vivid Victorian imagination, assisted by untold wealth. The Middle Ages fascinated the Victorians as much as the Victorians fascinate people today. High Gothic was the order of the day.
Wandering from chamber to chamber in this fairy-tale castle is like being in some fantastic dream, and kids into photography will be happy there for hours. In any case get a few prince and princess stories into them over the week beforehand and they'll be off in their own little world once inside.
Opening Times
PLEASE NOTE: Castle Coch closes 13:00 - 14:00 for lunch
