Bradford Industrial Museum
About Bradford Industrial Museum
Bradford Industrial Museum is on the site of a former Worsted Mill, complete with mill managers house with its splendid Victorian décor, and in contrast, a terrace of back to back houses that show how mill workers lived at 3 different time periods in history. It is open throughout the year, has a varied calendar of changing exhibitions and events, plus it is free to visit! Inside the Mill itself, you can see permanent working displays of textile machinery, steam power, engineering, and printing, plus whatever temporary exhibitions are showing at the time. There is also a Transport Gallery to explore, with a number of historic vehicles to discover. Everyone will be amazed by the complexity of some of the machinery, even the simple home handloom weaver will surprise you. Look out for the photos that have been transferred to blinds covering the windows, Victor, the huge steam engine brought over from Linton Mill, and Bradford's last trolley bus!
