About Bradford Ice Rink
Join them for their general sessions where the house lights are on full beam and everyone is welcome to skate at a steady pace that suits them. Some of these sessions are also used to teach ice hockey or figure skating, so there may be some restrictions on ice availability, but they'll leave room for you too!
Family sessions are reserved for beginners and families, so only supervised youngsters are on the ice, teenagers will be turned away unless they're over 18 and bringing a younger sibling. These sessions are ideal for small children and people who may be a little nervous about giving it a go on the ice.
Skating with a cooler atmosphere, with disco lights and loud music turn the ice pad into a groovy club venue! Anyone is welcome to these sessions but very small children or complete beginners are advised to try a family session first. Please note that no skate aids are allowed on this session so it's really best for those already confident.
Bradford Ice Hockey Club run a beginners' training session on a Wednesday evening every week and they teach basic skating for ice hockey plus game skills and active training practices. The sessions are led by qualified coaches, who split the attendees into ability groups for train on the ice during the session, regardless of age. The bar bones requirements for attending are the ability to skate forward and stop, and ideally you would have reached level 4 in the Skate UK programme.
Synchro Skating is also available but it's part of a specific team so you'll need to register your interest and meet up with them for a skate around a discussion of suitability!
