Bolsover Castle, built in the early 17th century by Sir Charles Cavendish and completed by his son William Cavendish, the 1st Duke of Newcastle, is a treasure trove of historical and architectural delights. The castle's rich history is brought to life through engaging exhibits and interactive displays that will captivate both kids and adults. Plus, so much space and things to discover! 

Wonderful Walks

For the first time in 250 years, you can now enjoy a leisurely stroll along the newly restored Wall Walk at Bolsover Castle!

Take in the views of Derbyshire Countryside and admire the Fountain Garden from above!

Cavalier Horsemanship

Visit one of the finest indoor riding schools in the country and imagine William Cavendish and his elegant horse exercises from all the way in 1600s!

Terrace Range

Uncover the beauty of the Terrace Range as you overlook the Vale of Scarsdale created by Sir William. It's roofless and used to be stately rooms that were the entrance to Bolsover Castle!

You can catch the following buses: Stagecoach 1, 1a, 53 and 53a, Hulleys service 49 and TM Travel service 8. These buses pass through Chesterfield, Mansfield and Sheffield.

By Train:

The nearest train station is Chesterfield which is 6 miles from Bolsover Castle.

By Car:

Use the postcode S44 6PR and travel via the M1 to Bolsover, and leave from junction 29A.
