Bartons Point Coastal Park
Sheerness, KentAbout Bartons Point Coastal Park
The stunning Bartons Point Coastal Park is located on the edge of Sheerness with large grass areas for walking and recreation. The lake features crab, eel, flounder and bass plus you can pick up simple crabbing equipment (and your fishing permit) from the boat house cafe. You can also do year round sailing, windsurfing, kayaking or paddle boarding here, but the equipment hire is only April through September (weather permitting) so you need to have your own kit to bring at other times. They have a charming miniature railway, a popular model flying field and a cool little pitch and putt golf course on the same site, plus a sturdy new play area to give kids of most ages and abilities the chance to run their energy levels down to a point where they can sit still enough to fish! It's part of the Sheppey Cycle Route too, plus popular with the locals for orienteering, geo-caching and kite flying!
