Get outside and explore the Green Flag award winning Greenhead Park, which is a large play area over two sites giving children plenty of space to run around. There are also tennis courts, a bowling green, a skate park and paddling pool area in the summer months.

Beaumont Park is a little bit further way full of ornate Victorian features; woodland walks and separate play areas for older and younger children. Cliffe House is another woodland adventure where children can build dens and learn bush craft skills.

If the weather isn’t conducive to outdoor play then there’s still fun to be had on your Huddersfield family day out. Go climbing at Huddersfield Climbing Centre, try and find your way out of interactive mazes in The Zone or enjoy soft play at either Play world Huddersfield or Fizzy Lizard.

Get to know the history of the area at Tolson Museum and Ravensknowle Park, which opens the pages of the past to tell stories of those that lived years ago, or go to the Colne Valley Museum to see traditional craft demonstrations, such as a working loom. Just don’t prick your finger!
