Attraction Information
The Pells Outdoor Swimming Pool claims to be the oldest documented swimming pool in the country, and offers a 46m x 23m (150ft 11in x 75ft 5in) spring fed pool, plus facilities for the whole family to enjoy.
This lovely seasonal pool is open between May and September each year, set in a beautiful part of the town next to a small park with a playground. They have a beautiful tree lined lawn for sunbathing, as well as the sun terrace itself.
For the little ones there is a children's paddling pool, rafts, and plenty other play equipment on offer. Under 5s can also enjoy Pells Paddlers, a splash and play group for little ones and their families, held every Tuesday from 10:00 to 11:30, and only £2 per family. A splashastic session, with toys, sand, and singing! The pool opens the public at midday, and families who would like to stay can get £1 off the standard admission fee.
Pells Pool is available for private hire for a number of events, including birthdays. There is a cafe on site offering fresh brewed coffee, tea, cakes and other home made food.
In fine weather the pool is sometimes kept open until 20:00 unless it is already pre-booked, but it may be closed at 17:00 during wet weather to keep costs down.
