Silverstone has been a race track since 1948, when hay bales and ropes to mark the circuit in what had been a wartime airfield and farm (and before that the home to Benedictine monks!)
There is a 2 hour tour, with a chance to learn the history of the home of British Motor Racing, visit a race control, tour the drive workshop and have a great photo opportunity a winner's podium! You will also be led around the actual race circuit, following the steps of Formula 1 stars, a must for motorsport fans!
A number of events are held during the year such as Formula 1, top touring cars and Superbikes, so you are guaranteed a thrill whatever you come for! It is definitely worth checking online to decide when you want to visit. If you want to make a mini holiday of a race meeting, you can camp with the kids at Woodlands, the official campsite. There are local options available too.
Free Silverstone Heritage app available to download on your phone or tablet, full of interesting information, plus an interactive map.br>
