Silverstone

Silverstone has been a race track since 1948, when hay bales and ropes to mark the circuit in what had been a wartime airfield and farm (and before that the home to Benedictine monks!) There is a 2 hour tour, with a chance to learn the history of the home of British Motor Racing, visit a race control, tour the drive workshop and have a great photo opportunity a winner's podium! You will also be led around the actual race circuit, following the steps of Formula 1 stars, a must for motorsport fans! A number of events are held during the year such as Formula 1, top touring cars and Superbikes, so you are guaranteed a thrill whatever you come for! It is definitely worth checking online to decide when you want to visit. If you want to make a mini holiday of a race meeting, you can camp with the kids at Woodlands, the official campsite.
