About Polperro Model Village
Let the kids be giants for the day at Polperro Model Village, literally a miniature recreation of the village of Polperro, with the delightful addition of many exciting references to Cornish Myth and Legend! Kids will love the sense of surrealism and the tiny cute features, older types will appreciate the precision and detail. It's also a fantastic place to take some family photos, so be sure to take the camera long with you!
The Land of Legend exhibit tells 7 fascinating stories from local folklore, including some about pirates and smugglers: yar! Using lights, sound and animation, this is the showpiece of the attraction and you'll hardly notice the education! It's not horrendously loud though so small ones should be ok.
The quaint model railway runs continuously and is a source of fascination for trainspotters of all ages, wending through its own little village environment, with wee buildings including farms, a river, a station and depot, and lots more! You should fully expect to be asked for a train set on the way home.
Kids may find it interesting to know that this miniature village has now survived both a fire and a flood! Really! Go Polperro!
