Attraction Information
On the edge of Old Leigh near Southend is the picturesque Leigh on Sea Beach. Small in size but large in character with the ambience of a traditional fishing village, renowned for its cobbled streets, cafes and cockleboats!
Taste fresh sea food from the charming cockle sheds, go swimming, windsurfing and sailing when the tide is right and when it’s low let the kids sink their toes into the mud flats! The beach itself is perfect for long walks as it stretches up to seven miles and, of course, it provides acres of space for games and sandcastle building under the sea air.
On the sea front is the Leigh Heritage Centre, plenty of shops, cafes and eateries. The beach itself is just 10 minutes from Leigh Railway Station and there’s plenty of parking available nearby, making it an accessible and affordable family day out!
Enjoy all the charm of this gorgeous beach!
