Located in the centre of Newcastle the Laing Art Gallery is home to an impressive collection of sculpture and art, which can be enjoyed throughout the season. These include dynamic landscapes by John Martin and sculptures by Henry Moore.
The collection from watercolour pieces are of national importance and from some of the biggest names in historic, modern and contemporary art. There is an extensive decorative art collection to marvel at, from British oil paintings and modern paintings to decorative art collections! The Laing Art Gallery is just a short walk from Newcastle Central Station. From the station, it’s around a 15-minute walk through the city centre, or you can take the Metro from Central Station to Monument Metro Station, which is just a 2-minute walk from the gallery.
By Bus:
The nearest bus stops are on John Dobson Street and Pilgrim Street, both just a short stroll away. Numerous buses from across the city and surrounding areas stop here, including services from the Gateshead, Gosforth, and North Tyneside areas.
By Car:
If you’re driving, the gallery is easily accessible via the A167(M). Parking is available nearby at John Dobson Street Car Park (NE1 8HL), just a couple of minutes' walk away. There are also car parks at Eldon Square and Manors, both within easy reach.
