Take a journey through the city from the Roman times to the early millennium through a range of exhibitions based on the area’s maritime, scientific and technological value to Britain and the rest of the world.
Budding scientists can go exploring in the interactive Science Maze while under sevens can splash around in the Play Tyne water play area. The museum is also home to the Turbinia; once the fastest steam powered ship, it is an iconic part of Tyneside’s history.
