Hollingworth Lake offers a perfect escape for nature lovers and outdoor enthusiasts. Originally built as a main water source for the Rochdale Canal, the lake became a tourist resort in the 1860s and has since become a much-loved beauty spot among locals and tourists!
There is a wide range of facilities for all ages at Hollingworth Lake, making it the perfect place for everyone to enjoy the great outdoors. Hike or cycle along well-marked walking routes showcasing the breathtaking views of the lake, nature reserve and the surrounding countryside. Enjoy picnics in designated areas and run around in the well-equipped playgrounds.

Travel
Planning a trip to Hollingworth Lake? There are a few different public transport options including the closest rail station to Hollingworth Lake, Smithy Bridge Station.
If you are travelling by bus you can take the 452, 455 & 456 from Rochdale Bus Station or the 452 and 455 from Littleborough.
So grab your rowing boats, lace your walking boots and head on down to a beautiful lake park that is sure to leave you in awe.
