Calling all residents, community groups and businesses!
Put on your sun hats, bring a picnic, and come help support hundreds of vulnerable people in Guildford and throughout Surrey! Join us for an afternoon of summer mayhem on Saturday, 6 July from 12:30pm on the River Wey in Guildford for the Surrey Care Trust duck race and Guildford Lions raft race - a day of fun for all ages to help raise money for terrific local charities!
There are different ways to get involved and there's something for everyone! This event is FREE for spectators!
Guildford Lions Raft Race
Enter a ‘Eurovision through the years’ Raft in this year’s raft race! Build your raft, festoon with decorations, and race it from Millmead (GU2 4BE) to the Riverside Centre in Stoughton (GU1 1LW) for a BBQ celebration. The race is open to anyone who can construct a raft capable of carrying its crew from the start at Millmead Lock Island to the finish at the Waterside Centre in Stoughton. It is also open to stand-up paddle boarders too.
Zero Carbon Guildford are supporting this year’s raft race and will be awarding a £100 voucher for the most sustainable raft constructed with recycled materials.
A BBQ will be available at the finish where trophies will be presented by the Mayor and the President of Guildford Lions Club.

Surrey Care Trust Duck Dash and Parade
We will kickstart the event at 1pm with our Duck Parade where we will launch our uniquely designed and hand painted giant ducks down the River Wey. At 1.40pm, hundreds of little ducks will be launched to see which little quacker will be the first across the finish line and on to Duck Glory!
We invite visitors of all ages to spend an exciting afternoon with friends and family all while supporting local charities. OR if you fancy a trip on the River Wey on Surrey Care Trust's community boat, Tranquility, for a donation, you can enjoy the river without any effort!
Tickets for this race are available to purchase online at Surrey Care Trust website (www.surreycaretrust.org.uk/event/surrey-care-trust-duck-dash/) and at their stall, on Millmead Island on the day of the race. Little ducks can be sponsored for £3 each.
Timings:
12:30 – Festivities begin and mini duck sales open
1pm – Duck Parade begins
1.30pm – mini duck sales close
1:40pm – Mini Duck Dash
2pm - The Mayor of Guildford will inspect the rafts
3pm – Raft Race Starts

Free family fun on the River Wey
An afternoon of free and accessible fun in Guildford cheering rubber ducks and homemade rafts. Ducks can be sponsored for £3 each, rafts can be entered at £45 each. All proceeds go to local charities.
