BHS approved Burley Lodge Equestrian Centre offer a variety of well mannered mounts for lessons, which are available from 4 years upwards. Their newly surfaced and floodlit indoor school is ideal for private lessons and lunge lessons and provides a safe, enclosed area for beginners to learn to ride in a supportive atmosphere for family to watch. As well as encouraging their students and clients to compete to a high standard in external competitions, at Burley Lodge their 60m x 20m dressage arena provides opportunities for all ages to enter their ‘in-house' competitions too!
Burley Lodge Equestrian Centre also has a dedicated jumping paddock with full set of show-jumps so there's room for development in that discipline if it's of interest to the kids. They also have an all weather floodlit outdoor arena suitable for flatwork, show jumping and cross country so there really are opportunities to get a fully rounded training in horse-work. Plus their cross country course is spread over 60 acres and their range of fences vary in height for your ever increasing capabilities! Cue the theme tune from Black Beauty!
They also offer gentle hacking around the 180 acre Estate and local lanes, an ideal way to extend a lesson if you just haven't had enough of the horsey stuff to go home! It's also a great way to introduce them to more complex riding while the lesson is still fresh in their minds and their confidence is high. Be sure to speak to them and check availability for extending into a hack if you think there is a chance that you'll want to!
