Best Things To Do & Days Out In Hastings, East Sussex
Known for the battle of 1066 and full of historical heritage, there are lots of things to do in Hastings for history buffs of all ages.
Battle Abbey is five miles away and where the famous battle took place. Wander the now peaceful grounds plugged into the audio tour that fills your senses with the sounds of battle, bringing to life those that fought so bravely in the name of King Harold or William the Conqueror.
The visitor centre will transport you back in time to understand how the battle came about and give you the chance to see if you’re strong enough to lift up a Norman shield. The Abbey ruins add to the atmosphere and are said to be the final resting place of King Harold.
Go even further back in time during Hastings family days out at the family friendly Hastings Museum and Art Gallery, where children can watch fossils turning into dinosaurs and discover prehistoric crocodiles.
There are lots of modern day activities too! From Battlezone Laser Hastings, an outdoor laser tag venue to Hastings Adventure Golf and the nearby Brexhill Leisure pool with water slide and wave machine, you’re going to need more than one day!
