FAQs

What is the number 1 rule of wild camping?

Leave no trace! The whole point of wild camping is to camp in a natural area but to also leave it natural. Take your rubbish with you and look after the earth that you camp on. Respect your environment.

Can you put a tent up anywhere?

Technically, you can camp anywhere if you have permission. But campers needn’t limit themselves to improved campgrounds. Dispersed campsites scattered across public lands provide an isolated place to pitch a tent.

What should I remember before going camping?

  • Always plan for bad weather.
  • Check the weather forecast.
  • Plan your activities in advance.
  • There’s nothing wrong with being over-prepared.
  • Look out for camping sales.
  • Take a first aid kit.
  • Use a packing list before setting off.
  • Don’t pitch up under a tree.
