Our Hope Hive – Sensory Play, Soft Play & Family Café Experience
Our Hope Hive is a unique, family-focused play space and café designed especially for babies, toddlers and young children. Whether you’re looking for a calm rainy day activity, a gentle introduction to play for your baby, or a welcoming place to meet other parents, Our Hope Hive offers something truly special.
At the heart of Our Hope Hive is our beautifully designed sensory room, where we run daily sessions for babies and young children. This carefully created space features soft lighting, calming sounds and a range of engaging sensory equipment to support early development. Within the sensory room, you’ll also find a small area of soft play, perfect for climbing, crawling and building confidence in a safe, cosy environment. Unlike larger, busier play centres, our space is intentionally calm and nurturing—ideal for little ones who benefit from a more relaxed setting.
Alongside our sensory sessions, we offer a variety of educational play experiences throughout the week. These include messy play, creative crafts and themed activities inspired by the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS). Every session is designed to support learning through play, helping children develop key skills such as communication, coordination, creativity and problem-solving—all while having fun. Our approach is child-led, meaning children are free to explore at their own pace in a supportive environment.
For families who love the outdoors, our garden play space provides a wonderful extension of the indoor experience. Children can explore nature, dig, plant, and engage in seasonal activities that encourage curiosity and connection with the natural world. Outdoor play supports physical development, imagination and wellbeing, and our garden is designed to be both stimulating and safe.
While little ones are busy playing, adults can relax in our cosy on-site café, serving high-quality coffee, homemade cakes and light lunches. Our Hope Hive is as much about supporting parents as it is about nurturing children. We understand the importance of connection, especially in the early years, and our space is designed to encourage conversation, friendship and community. Whether you’re catching up with friends or meeting other parents for the first time, you’ll always find a warm welcome here.
We also offer children’s parties that are thoughtfully designed to be both fun and stress-free. Our party packages combine sensory play, soft play and creative activities to create a memorable experience for your child and their friends. From themed celebrations to relaxed play-based parties, we take care of the details so you can enjoy the moment.
Our Hope Hive is proud to be more than just a play space—it’s a community hub. We provide a safe, inclusive and nurturing environment where families can feel at home. Our sessions are suitable for babies and young children, including those who may benefit from a calmer, more supportive setting.
Whether you’re visiting for a sensory session, enjoying a coffee while your child plays, exploring the garden, or celebrating a special occasion, Our Hope Hive offers a meaningful day out for the whole family.
Come and discover a space where children can play, parents can connect, and everyone can feel part of something special.
Educational play sessions inspired by EYFS, indoors and outdoors
Our educational play sessions are thoughtfully designed to support children’s development through meaningful, engaging experiences. Inspired by the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS), each session focuses on building key skills such as communication, physical development, creativity and problem-solving—while always keeping play at the centre.
Children can explore a wide range of activities including messy play, creative crafts, sensory exploration and themed learning experiences. Every session is carefully planned but remains flexible and child-led, allowing children to follow their interests, build confidence and develop independence at their own pace.
We believe learning happens everywhere, which is why our sessions extend beyond the indoor space into our garden. Outdoor play offers opportunities for nature-based learning, physical movement and imaginative exploration, helping children connect with the world around them while supporting their wellbeing.
Our calm, nurturing environment ensures that all children feel supported and included, making our sessions particularly beneficial for those who may find larger, busier settings overwhelming. At Our Hope Hive, children are encouraged to explore, discover and grow—building strong foundations for future learning through play.
Calm sensory room with soft play for gentle early exploration
Our sensory room is at the heart of the Hope Hive experience. Designed with babies and young children in mind, it offers a calm, nurturing environment with soft lighting, soothing sounds and carefully selected equipment. Unlike busy play centres, this space allows children to explore without overwhelm, making it ideal for younger visitors or those who benefit from a quieter setting. The addition of a small soft play area encourages physical development through safe climbing, crawling and movement. These sessions support early learning, bonding and confidence-building while giving parents a chance to relax and connect.
Family café and community space designed for connection and support
Our Hope Hive is more than just a play space—it’s a place for parents too. Our on-site café serves great coffee, homemade cakes and light lunches, creating a relaxed environment where adults can unwind while children play safely nearby. We believe connection is vital in early parenthood, and our space encourages friendships, conversation and support. Whether you’re meeting friends, joining a session or simply enjoying a quiet moment, Our Hope Hive offers a welcoming community atmosphere where families can truly feel at home.
