Attraction Information
Woods Mill Nature Reserve is an excellent place to take the kids for a walk through mixed habitats plus visit the Sussex Wildlife Trust environmental education centre.
There is something for the kids to see here, no matter what time of year you visit so it is a great place for to explore. There are pond dipping sessions available during the Summer holidays, which are held by the Woods Mill warden and give kids a chance to get a close look at some of the wildlife living in the pond. The staff are very knowledgeable and happy to answer any questions kids may have about the creatures that they have netted.
There are a variety of trails to walk through and lots of wildlife for kids to look out for such as dragonflies, moorhens, fish and deer so it's well worth taking binoculars and a camera. Please be aware that dogs are not permitted in the reserve.
This is a beautiful place to go for a walk and a picnic but it may not be suitable for some pushchairs or wheelchairs so plan ahead and wear good (rather than posh) shoes!
