Nymans is a fantastic family day out in West Sussex, combining beautiful gardens, woodland walks and a natural play space with plenty of opportunities for outdoor adventure.
Families can explore winding garden paths, discover hidden corners and enjoy free-range fun in the Play Glade, which features den building, a woodland cabin, balancing logs, wooden musical instruments and a play stage.

Pokémon joins Nymans' Summer of Play

This summer, Pokémon joins the fun at Nymans, bringing even more excitement to the National Trust's Summer of Play. Families can enjoy a mix of Pokémon-themed activities, outdoor games and nature-inspired adventures throughout the beautiful gardens and grounds.

Pokémon fans can unleash their energy in all-new Pokémon activity zones designed to encourage play, exploration and family fun. Along the way, children can collect trail sheets, take part in themed activities and enjoy Pokémon trading opportunities.
■ Play, Race and Get Active
Comber's Field is transformed into a hub of family fun, packed with activities, games and races. Whether children love running, competing or simply playing outdoors, there are plenty of opportunities to burn off energy throughout the day.
■ Explore the Play Glade
Young adventurers can head to the Play Glade to build dens, explore the wooden cabin and enjoy imaginative outdoor play. It's the perfect spot for children to create their own adventures while connecting with nature.

Summer of Play: Learn to play beginners Pokémon Trading Card Game
Date: 22, 24, 29 and 31 July; 5, 7, 12, 14, 19, 21, 26 and 28 August
Session times: 1pm, 1.40pm, 2.20pm, 3pm and 3.40pm
Price: Included with normal admission (free for National Trust members)
Get started with Pokémon TCG with guidance from expert local Pokémon Professors. Perfect for complete beginners, these sessions will teach you everything you need to get started Pokémon TCG in a fun and welcoming environment. Don’t worry if you don’t have a deck of Pokémon cards yet – we have learner decks available to borrow in the sessions. Sessions will be run by an official Play! Pokémon Store.

Summer of Play: Circus skills workshops
Date: Every Thursday from 23 July–27 August
Time: 11am–3pm
Price: Included with normal admission (free for National Trust members)
Join instructors from Circus Allstars in this fun, drop-in workshop. Safe and fun instruction in skills such as hula-hoop, juggling, spinning plate, balancing feather, poi, gymnastic-ribbon, devil stick, diabolo, pedal-go and stilts. Alongside expert demonstrations to show you how it’s done!

Outdoor Theatre: Alice in Wonderland
Date: 14 August
Time: 6pm – 8pm

Join Alice as she tumbles down the rabbit hole and encounters a whirlwind of curious characters—the grinning Cheshire Cat, the frantic White Rabbit, the eccentric Mad Hatter, and the fearsome Queen of Hearts. This timeless tale of imagination, riddles, and wonder comes to life on stage in a dazzling production full of humour, music, and a touch of madness. Gates open at 5pm for picnics.
Play Glade and natural adventure
The Play Glade is perfect for younger children, featuring den building, balancing logs, a mini stage, wooden musical instruments and a woodland cabin.
Beautiful gardens and woodland to explore
Families can discover the romantic house ruins, wander ancient woodland, spot wildlife around the lake, search for wooden animal sculptures and enjoy plenty of space for picnics and outdoor adventures.

Nymans offer free family maps, baby-changing facilities, picnic areas, cafés, children welcom in the house, and buggy-friendly routes across much of the garden, making it easy to visit with young children.
