About Brodie Castle
Brodie Castle is stuffed to the turrets with the legacy of generations of the Clan Brodie, including antique furniture, decorative plasterwork, and paintings, in this fantastic Scottish castle. You will definitely need several hours to take in all that the castle has to offer!
There are plenty of charming, quirky, and creepy treasures to be found as you explore passageways, towers, and rooms that have been restored to show what life was like for this ancient Scottish clan! If you would like to know more, friendly and knowledgeable guides hold regular tours, and will tell you all about the history of the house and its inhabitants.
There is plenty to grab the kids' attention, from stories of ghostly goings on, to the weapons, skeletons, and masks on display in the Guard Room! Be sure to check out the impressive collection of vintage children's toys in the nurseries.
Once you have explored the house, you can head outside to the scenic gardens and parkland, and explore the woodland walk and the nature trail. There are observation hides to help you spot birds and other wildlife, and if you are really lucky, a red squirrel or a woodpecker.
If the kids are still full of energy, then head to the Adventure Playground with timber and rope equipment at the rear of the castle, which has plenty to amuse kids of all ages. Features include a sand play area, basket swings and toddler swings, and equipment for kids aged between 18 months to 6 years. Older kids can enjoy a tower with tube slide, a board rider, an adventure trail, and an aerial runway! It is conveniently located near the cafeteria patio, so you can enjoy a cuppa while you watch your little adventurers.
