Whether your kids are into history or adventure, there are lots of quirky things to do in Luton just waiting to be explored.
Get to know the stories of the people behind the collections at The Stockwood Discovery Centre. This museum takes you back to prehistoric times in the region, right through to the building of the museum on the grounds of the previously demolished Stockwood House. All the items on display are linked to the local area, such as a rare piece of medieval art from the 15th century.
The grounds themselves also feature different gardens. See sculptures from local artists, a sensory garden, an area for medicinal plants and more.
After all that history and culture, children will probably be ready to take on something a little more exertive. Horse lovers are catered for on a Luton family day out and will be thrilled for a chance to saddle up at Sunshine Riding School, where qualified instructors are on hand to offer lessons.
Alternatively go for a swim in one of the two pools at Luton Sports Village, or practice your tricks at Jump Arena Luton, which has over 100 connected trampolines, two dodge ball courts, foam pits and a huge air bag to land in.
Younger children will enjoy exploring Futures Fun Factory. This indoor soft play has all the usual attributes, including a specific area for babies and toddlers.
