Pumpkin Picking North East 2026

The North East may be a smaller region for pumpkin patches, but what it lacks in quantity it makes up for in character. Farm patches here tend to be relaxed, family-run affairs set against some stunning Northumberland and Durham countryside, making for a genuinely lovely autumn outing.

Most North East patches open from the first weekend of October 2026, with daily access from around 23 October for the half-term week. A good number operate on a walk-in basis, so you can turn up without pre-booking, which is a real bonus for families who prefer to be spontaneous.

Look out for patches across County Durham, Tyne and Wear, Northumberland and Teesside. Activities typically include pick-your-own fields, farm animals, seasonal food and, in some cases, spooky Halloween trails for the last week of October.
