Pumpkin Picking at Baydale Farm

Every pumpkin here is grown by the family who farm the land, which is why the choice runs well past the standard orange sphere. Traditional orange Racers sit next to tiny white Casperitas and Crown Prince winter squashes, so one trip can produce a carving pumpkin, something for the kitchen and something small enough for a windowsill.

There is no entry fee. You walk into the field, pick what you like and pay only for the pumpkins you choose, with prices starting at £2. Daytime picking needs no booking at all, so a visit can be as brief or as unhurried as your children allow. Cash and card are both accepted, with all major cards supported.

This is a working farm, so boots or wellies are recommended. The route from the car park to the patch is flat, and in dry weather the patch should be accessible to wheelchair users. Toilets are on site, and a catering company is usually on the patch on most days. Dogs are not allowed, so they will need to stay at home.

Opening times are subject to stocks and weather, which is worth remembering if you are driving any distance late in the month. The farm also runs Dusk to Darkness evening sessions, which must be booked ahead, and new ticketed evening events are planned for 2026.
