Pumpkin Picking at Holmside Park

Pumpkin picking here is attached to a normal day at the park rather than sold as its own event. You book a visit to Holmside Park on any date it is open in October, and the pumpkin patch is part of what your ticket lets you into, for adults as well as for children booked in advance.

What that ticket buys is an all-day pass to more than twenty indoor and outdoor activities, so the pumpkins are one part of a longer visit rather than the whole reason to come. Picking is only available to paying visitors at the park, so it is not a field you can drive to for a pumpkin and drive away again.

The pumpkins themselves are bought from the kiosk and paid for separately, and there is no obligation to buy one at all. Availability depends on the crop, as the park is careful to say.

The October calendar has gaps in it. The park is closed on Wednesdays and Thursdays through the month, with the 28th and 29th the exceptions during half term, and the hours differ between term time and the school holidays. Check the day before you build plans around it.

Booking ahead saves money in a small way too, since a £2 booking fee is added for anyone booking on the same day. NHS and Blue Light cardholders save 10% on full access admissions, though discounted admissions are not available during special events.
