What is the Genesis Light Show at Swiss Church?

Have you ever been deep in sleep? Do you remember how it felt, to be wrapped up in a lucid world of vivid colour and mesmerising events? Well, the Genesis light show is much like a dream world. It is one of the most beautiful immersive exhibitions in London as it intertwines spirituality, art and technology.

As you step one foot forward through the grand doors of Swiss Church, you’ll be transported to an escapist oasis of colour, covering every surface. Based on the biblical story of Genesis (hence the name), families can see and feel the 3 days of creation. Wander through elements of light, sky, water, earth, and then nature.

This miracle-like experience is an intersection of art and technology, creating sensory stories that will remain in your brain until the end of time… The exhibit is made up of beautiful projections, 3D projection mapping, strobe lights, and bean bags for relaxing on, while you watch the world bloom before your eyes.

This audiovisual journey is perfect for adults and kids! Unlike other immersive experiences in London, this one has already transcended the rest of Europe, inspiring families through art and spirituality. All you need to do is sit back, relax and contemplate the story of creation on a hefty bean bag.

Where is the Genesis Swiss Church Light Show?

You will find this stunning display at the 18th century, Grade II-listed Swiss Church – otherwise known as the ‘Eglise Helvétique’. This beautiful location was founded in 1762 by a group of expatriate Swiss and the first ‘Helvetic Chapel’ was built near Moor Street in Soho in 1775. The church was an integral part of the Swiss community and until 1817, the pastor was even the official issuer of passports to Swiss citizens in London.
