A Little Bit About Croome…

Once the private estate of the Earls of Coventry, Croome Court has a magnificent history with the evolution of architectural styles! From the elegant Georgian period to the picturesque landscape movement that followed.

Designed by an 18th-century architect, Lancelot Brown, the landscape at Croome is a beautiful environment that displays the very best of nature. Rolling lawns, serene lakes, and meticulously designed structures all contribute to the magical atmosphere that envelopes this estate.

There’s always something new to discover here, and plenty of hidden gems for families to enjoy! Like the Summer of Play at Croome – a summer-long event that hosts all sorts of family-friendly activities, for big and little kids!

Now, let’s get into the fun stuff! What is their Summer of Play event? A super fun and enjoyable programme of activities that will make the summer holidays even more fun.

Fancy getting the kids out and about and exploring the outdoors? Croome is the best kinda place to come to, especially when you’re trying to entertain the kids with a jam-packed fun-filled summer!

Not only can the kids explore the parkland with the summer sun shining down, but also wander through woodland walks and discover historical buildings. There’s wildflower meadows they can frolic in and plenty of picnic spots you can relax in and enjoy an afternoon lunch. But that’s just what you can do on a normal day…

Free Summer of Play Activities

The festival of family fun is so much more than that… For starters, you can get involved in all sorts of nature craft activities! From weaving with nature on a giant weaving frame to self-led paper crafts in the Activity Room and with Nature Markers. Make your own cloud gazer and even handcrafted blossom origami! Not forgetting relaxing colouring activities – it’s the perfect downtime activity after burning off all their energy playing garden games! Also, with their new cloud gazer, they can practice cloud watching!

The kids can hop into the giant birds nest and get creative with nature play, or enjoy an incredible and brilliant performance play on the festival-inspired stage! Before heading down to the mud kitchens for…you guessed it – messy play!! It’s not summer without getting a little bit dirty, right? Just remember to bring a change of clothes for the journey home!

If your little ones love to make things with their hands, then den building is an activity they’ll love to get on board with. Before winding down and reading a wide selection of books in the reading nook.

ZooLab Animal Handling Show

For those kiddies who love animals, they can take part in special animal handling sessions with ZooLab! Get up close and personal with frogs, giant snails, tarantulas, lizards, snakes and much more! Then you can learn all about how these animals contribute to the biodiversity at Croome!

Bat Walk

Ever wanted to know more about these nocturnal creatures? Embark on a bat walk with Croome’s Rangers and learn all sorts of fascinating facts about these tiny animals. You can also listen out for them in the garden and park! How many can you spot?

More Fun Activities At Croome…

As well as their summer of play, you’ll find family-friendly activity booklets full of things to do, things to find and things to draw! Discover animal houses and interesting facts about Croome and its inhabitants! Enjoy dancing and letting loose with professional dancers from Ballet School, take in breathtaking, panoramic views of Worcestershire from Panorama Tower AND sit back and watch a film with Adventure Cinema.

Then, the kids can also let loose in the natural play area, clamber along tree trunks, build dens, become king or queen of the woods on the wooden throne and play along the logs.

That’s not the only play area, though. The RAF-themed playground has all sorts of energetic fun! From a control tower and scramble nets to a bunker, slides and swings! Your kids will be busy for hours.

And, of course, you can attend Forest School Sessions for an extra price, explore the area with nature walks and head out on a garden tour.

Do I need to pay for the forest school?

Yes, a Monday forest school will be £5.00 each.

Will there be special measurements for those with sensory issues?

Yes! There will be 10 sensory backpacks that will be free to loan from the visitor centre. They come with ear defenders, sunglasses, magnifiers and sensory toys.

Will there be food and drinks?

Yes, you’ll find a cafe for refreshments and you can also bring your own picnics too!
