Attraction Information

Kilkenny Castle is an amazing building with over 800 years of history and an interesting mix of architecture due to the many alterations and additions that have been made over time.
You can learn all about the castle, and its many occupants over the years, by taking the tour of this complex building with a passionate and knowledgeable guide, who will tell you all fascinating stories from the past. There are some wonderfully restored rooms to explore, each with information panels with details about items you will find there.

The castle grounds are also fantastic, and a great place for a stroll, after you have explored the castle. The family pooch is also welcome, but they will need to be kept on the lead, and as usual, you will have to clear up after them.

We recommend checking online before you visit to see what's on as there is a busy calendar of different events held here during the year.
