Attraction Information
The Glasgow Botanic Gardens is known internationally for its impressive glass houses and extensive tropical and temperate plant collections from around the world.
You can find the quite adorable and thoroughly informative Children's Garden in the Old Nursery within The Botanic Gardens. The aim of the kid's area is to encourage interest in the growing, cooking and eating of healthy, natural food, which is vital stuff so be sure to be enthusiastic, whether you're secretly thinking of pizza or not! The links with the Botanic Gardens will hopefully also encourage children's interest in plants and wider environmental and conservation concerns.
There is also a great adventure playground for the kids to blow off steam in, featuring a load of sturdy, outdoor play equipment generally suited to 3 to 10 year olds, though younger are welcome to play with close assistance.
A variety of themes of horticultural and botanical interest are found in the grounds so if kids are interested there's plenty of educational scope here, as well as attractive walks by the River Kelvin ideal for a little family saunter.
