What's On - Events and Activities

Tudor World is a compact indoor museum that brings Tudor life into a more hands-on setting than a traditional gallery visit. Rather than viewing objects from a distance, you can step through themed rooms and engage with the exhibits directly.

The museum includes a wide range of interactive elements: touchscreen content, videos to choose from, smells to try, a Tudor feast setting to sit at, a throne to perch on, a four-poster bed to lie on, a written witch trial, stocks to stand in and quill writing in the school room. It is designed to feel immersive within a short visit.

  • Hands-on exhibits throughout

    Hands-on exhibits throughout

Tudor World is designed to be touched, not just looked at. Visitors can try quill writing, sit at a Tudor feast, lie on a four-poster bed, stand in the stocks and choose from a range of touchscreen videos and sensory elements. Objects are not glued down and the museum actively encourages interaction.

The museum is on Sheep Street, two minutes' walk from the Royal Shakespeare Company. It sits inside a genuine 16th century building, accessed through an arch and along the only remaining cobbled courtyard in Stratford. It is easy to combine with a wider town-centre day out.

  • A short, flexible visit

    A short, flexible visit

The average museum visit is 20 to 30 minutes, though some visitors stay up to an hour. That makes it a practical indoor stop without requiring a full half-day commitment.
