Take your family adventure to new heights at Go Ape Leeds Castle, where high ropes, long zip lines and treetop obstacles sit beside one of Kent's best-known historic landmarks. Located just off the M20 near Maidstone, this is an ideal outdoor day out for older children, teenagers and adults who want to swap the usual plans for fresh air, big thrills and plenty of family bragging rights.
Your Treetop Challenge starts with a full safety briefing and harness fitting before you climb into the canopy. From there, tackle wobbly crossings, rope bridges, climbing challenges and Go Ape's legendary Tarzan Swing as you work your way through the trees. The course includes platforms more than 10 metres above the ground and zip lines up to 250 metres long, so it is a proper test of nerve from start to finish.
The castle backdrop makes this Go Ape location especially memorable, but the focus is firmly on the adventure. Take the course at your own pace, encourage your group through the trickier sections and enjoy the satisfaction of completing a challenge together. Treetop Challenge is suitable for participants aged 10 and over who are at least 1.4m tall.
There are options for younger climbers too. Treetop Adventure offers an entry-level high ropes experience for children over 1m tall, while Treetop Adventure Plus adds extra height, crossings and zip lines for children aged 6 and over who are at least 1.2m tall. Groups aged 12 and over can also book Axe Throwing as a separate activity.
Go Ape is based in the Leeds Castle car park, outside the main castle grounds. Your Go Ape ticket does not include admission to Leeds Castle, its gardens or other castle attractions, but you can combine bookings to make a bigger day out.
