What to Expect...
Go Ape Grizedale Forest brings high ropes and zip line adventure to one of the Lake District’s best-loved woodland settings. Choose from three activities, each combining fresh air, forest scenery and a challenge to remember.
Zip Trekking Adventure is the standout experience. Designed for ages 13 and over, it starts with a scenic ten-minute minivan journey high into the fells before you tackle three kilometres of tandem zip lines through the forest. There are no crossings to conquer, just speed, height and spectacular Lake District views. Allow around two to three hours for the full experience.
Treetop Challenge is Go Ape’s classic high ropes course for ages 10 and over, packed with elevated crossings, tough obstacles and fast zip wires. Younger adventurers aged 6 and over can build confidence on Treetop Adventure Plus, a mid-level course with plenty of thrills.
After your adventure, make more of your day at Grizedale Forest. Wander the walking trails, hire bikes, visit the play area or refuel with drinks, snacks and meals at Cafe Ambio in the visitor centre.

Important Information
- Please allow plenty of time for your journey, as roads into Grizedale Forest can be narrow and slow, particularly during summer. Follow signs to Go Ape after parking in the main visitor centre or Kennels car park.
- Parking is available at both car parks and operates on a pay-on-exit basis. Toilets, accessible facilities and baby-changing are available near the cafe, a short walk from the Go Ape cabin.
- Zip Trekking Adventure is for ages 13 and over, with a minimum height of 1.4m and a weight range of 45kg to 124kg. Treetop Challenge is for ages 10 and over, while Treetop Adventure Plus is for ages 6 and over. Check the latest height, weight and adult supervision requirements before booking.
- Wear comfortable outdoor clothing and sturdy footwear that you do not mind getting wet or muddy. Go Ape runs in most weather conditions, so bring waterproof layers if rain is forecast.
