Self-Guided Entry gives you timed daytime admission to Bodmin Jail. Official guidance says you should arrive 10 minutes before your booked entry time, and the ticket page advises allowing 1.5 to 2 hours for your visit.

Bodmin Jail is built for visitors who want more than a quick look around. The self-guided route takes you through original prison spaces, immersive interpretation and The Dark Walk, which uses sound, lighting and storytelling to explain the jail’s history.
Original prison spaces
You can move through restored jail areas, including cells and other historic parts of the site. The experience focuses on real stories from the jail’s past, from daily prison life to punishment and reform.
Included audio tours
Self-guided entry now comes with both a History Audio Tour and a Paranormal Audio Tour. Visitors are advised to download the tour before arrival and bring headphones for the best experience.
