Your next family day out is sure to be awesome - just check out all the cool things to do in Bolton!
Taking the children out for the day can be expensive, which is why finding attractions like Bolton Central Library and Museum is so great! Free to enter, the museum has lots of interesting artifacts like a piece of Japanese Samurai Armour and a 3,200-year old mummy in the Ancient Egypt Gallery. It also has an aquarium featuring freshwater fish from all over the world.
Also free to enter is the Bolton Steam Museum, over 27 old steam engines have been lovingly restored by volunteers to bring them back to their former glory. There are activity sheets for children to help take them round and models for them to operate themselves!
Moses Gate Country Park is a free park and local nature reserve that has beautiful woodland, relaxing waterfalls and various nature trails. It’s home to Bolton’s largest adventure playground and plenty of cycle routes, which makes it the perfect spot for a leisurely afternoon on a Bolton family day out.
Indoor play areas include the animal adventure themed On Safari soft play, Wacky Warehouse – Bee Hive and Curly Whirleez, which is the largest in the town.
