Orkan Adventures
offer Battlefield Live, Paint balling and Clay Pigeon Shooting located at a WW2 Gun Emplacement on Burray Island plus there is a driving range and they offer boat trips from the marina too.
Paintballing can be played by anyone over 12 years old. However, they say that Battlefield Live can be played by anyone of any age and this location offers realism not found in an indoor battle arena.
Battlefield live is a laser combat simulation game of stealth. Each player is given a gun that fires a beam of light and a hat with sensors on it that react when you get shot. The guns can be programed for different amounts of lives so that players can be eliminated. There is no lower age limit for the laser tag, you just need to be big enough to wield the gun!
For clay pigeon shooting, Orkan Adventures provide Clay Pigeons, a trap, four Shotguns and cartridges. Or if golf is more your thing, the driving range is situated below the wind generator at The Northfield, Burray, about a 15 minutes drive from Kirkwall.
It is recommended that you book in advance if you wish to take part in Battlefield Live or Paint balling as there are strict minimum and maximum numbers in order to make the games run properly.
