Travel through 16 miles of Worcestershire and Shropshire countryside on a heritage railway where you can hop on and off at stations including Kidderminster, Bewdley, Highley and Bridgnorth. Freedom of the Line tickets give you flexible all-day travel, while shorter return journeys are available if you want a simpler outing.
You can break up your journey with a stop at The Engine House Visitor Centre at Highley, where entry is free on operating days. Families can also pair their trip with riverside stops, country walks and nearby attractions along the route.

The Engine House Visitor Centre at Highley is free to enter on operating days. It has locomotive displays, railway exhibits, an accessible toilet, lift access to the first-floor restaurant and viewing balcony, plus a small play area nearby.
If you do not need a full-day ticket, shorter return journeys are available on selected routes. These include trips to Arley or Highley from Kidderminster or Bridgnorth, which can work well for younger families.
The SVR is open Wednesday, Thursday, Saturday and Sunday off-peak; Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Saturday and Sunday in the summer holidays; and every day in May and October half-terms.
