Lift 109 takes you inside the northwest chimney of Battersea Power Station, rising 109 metres to reveal 360-degree views across the London skyline. The experience lasts around one hour and is suitable for all ages (children aged 15 and under must be accompanied by an adult). Located at Circus Road West in Nine Elms, the attraction is wheelchair accessible and well served by public transport.
Your visit starts in the Art Deco Turbine Hall A, where interactive exhibits bring the Power Station's history to life. Walk through a recreation of architect Sir Giles Gilbert Scott's office, explore an illustrated wall with touchpoints that activate sound and movement, and try a hands-on working model showing how coal from the Thames once powered the building. A touchscreen quiz table lets visitors of all ages test their knowledge before the ascent.
From the top of the chimney, you can spot landmarks across the capital and look directly down onto the Power Station's four chimneys and restored Art Deco structure. The attraction opens at 10am daily, closing at 8pm Thursday to Saturday and 6pm Sunday to Wednesday. There are 39 stairs during the experience; a step-free wheelchair lift runs on the hour and half-hour for visitors who need it, and can accommodate wheelchairs up to 115cm by 65cm.
