Best Things To Do & Days Out In Belfast

Birthplace of the RMS Titanic and home to one of the best zoos in the UK, the capital of Northern Ireland is packed with great family days out. Let’s explore some of the top things to do in Belfast together.

Start the day at Titanic Belfast, which takes you through the Titanic story using special effects, dark rides and full reconstructions. Brace yourself as the iceberg hits and relive the sinking as the beast that was Titanic splits from underneath you.

Try your hand at all things science at W5, home to over 250 fun and interactive exhibits over four exhibition areas to discover. There’s even a special area for the mini scientist under 5. No wonder W5 was voted the best educational day out in Northern Ireland at the 2019 Family Favourites Awards

If you love all things wild, a visit to Belfast Zoo is an absolute must. It’s one of the best zoos in the UK and a perfect day out for animal lovers of all ages.

Want to get the kids outdoors? Check out Belfast Castle - there may not actually be a castle to explore, but their award-winning adventure playground is a firm family favourite. There young adventurers (3-14) can go looking for Napoleon’s Nose and climb, jump, swing and slide their way through any excess energy!

If the weather isn’t on your side, you’ll have a huge choice of rainy day activities too, from bouncy trampoline fun at We Are Vertigo  to jungle-themed soft play adventures at Roar and Explore and swimming at Shankill Leisure Centre.

There are lots more beautiful and exciting places to visit in Belfast but if you feel like travelling a little further, here are some of the best places to visit in Northern Ireland.
