London Zoo is a brilliant attraction to visit, especially to see over 750 amazing animal species and some that you might not see anywhere else. From Wolverines, Sumatran tigers and the Patagonian Mara (which are free roaming!). But you can also see the beautiful Macaw birds, Asiatic lions, cheeky llamas and some incredible nocturnal animals like the sloth, monkeys and tamanduas!

How much are London Zoo tickets?

Standard one-day entry tickets on our tickets page start from £33.00 per adult and £21.00 per child. Tickets must be booked in advance.

What time does it open?

London Zoo has seasonal times throughout the year. For 2021/2022 the opening times were as follows:

  • 1st November 2021 – 11th February 2022 10:00  – 16:00
  • 12th February – 26th March 10:00 – 17:00
  • 27th March – 4th September 10:00  – 18:00

How long will I spend there?

How long is a piece of string?! If you’re an animal lover, you could spend all day there, making sure you see every animal possible. With so many exhibits to see and special events like Summer of Colour where you join a world of vibrantly coloured creatures, big and small. And of course, you can book a zoo keeper experience or feed an animal experience. So, your day can be spent here from a couple of hours to the full day.

To get the most out of your visit, it’s best to reserve a day.

What is close to London Zoo?

You can visit Natural History Museum, which is 24 minutes away (3.7 miles) – Cromwell Road, Kensington, Greater London, SW7 5BD.

Buckingham Palace, which is 20 minutes away (3.4 miles) – St James Park, London, Greater London, SW1A 1AA.

Madame Tussauds London, which is 6 minutes away (1.3 miles) – Marylebone Road, Baker Street, London, Greater London, NW1 5LR.

What age is best for London Zoo?

Children under the age of 3 are given free entry, so all ages are welcome. But we think children 3+ will have the best experience, as they’ll be able to interact with the animals and be able to explore with their eyes more.

How much money should I budget for London Zoo?

With ticket prices starting from £33.00 per adult and £21.00 per child, an average family of 4 (2 adults and 2 kids) will need to budget £108 for entry to the zoo. But will also need spending money for food and maybe some souvenirs from the gift shop!

Food generally reaches. up to £13.00 per meal and souvenirs can vary in price depending on the item.

So, we estimate up to £150 for a family day out (just to be safe).

  • The address is Outer Cir, London NW1 4RY and the car park is on the Outer Circle.

By tube:

  • Camden Town (16 minutes walk from the zoo)
  • Chalk Farm (18 minutes walk)
  • Baker Street (21 minutes walk)

By train:

  • Euston Station and then either Camden Town or Chalk Farm tube
  • Marylebone Station and then Baker Street tube

By bus:
