Pumpkin Picking at Worzals

Over 80,000 pumpkins are grown for Rusty's Great Pumpkin Patch, and every ticket includes one to take home, so nobody leaves this Cambridgeshire farm empty-handed. Picking is only part of it; the site is built out into themed worlds with seasonal displays and live character encounters.

Between the displays there is an electric tractor race track, hook-a-duck, carnival games, a scavenger hunt and face painting, all covered by the standard ticket. A separate Play Area ticket adds an hour in the undercover play area for children aged 1 to 12, and accompanying adults do not need one of their own; a standard ticket is enough.

Everyone coming through the gate needs a ticket, including babies, although under 1s go free. That is worth knowing before you book for a large group. The main event is under cover with heating in some areas, which makes it a steadier half term outing than an open field, but the weather still reaches you, so dress for it.

Food comes from Butterwands Bakery and Bertha's Coffee and Creamery, with loaded fries, ice cream sundaes, milkshakes and hot chocolates. Payment is worth planning: hook-a-duck and face painting take card only, while tractor rides are cash only. Dogs are not allowed anywhere on site apart from guide dogs, and the farm has confirmed that dedicated sensory-friendly sessions are not running this year.
