Pumpkin Picking at Lower Drayton Farm

Ten years of pumpkin growing sit behind the 2026 season, and the farm has added something new to mark it. You can now choose your pumpkins and veg from indoors rather than heading out into the field, which changes the maths completely on a wet weekend with small children.

PYO Pumpkins runs on weekends through late September and early October, then daily from 17 October to the end of the month. Three Friday evenings are given over to Pumpkins in the Dark sessions, and extra spooky activity runs across October half term, from 24 to 31 October.

Tickets come as entry only, entry with a pumpkin, or entry with a pumpkin plus a small or large bag of veg, so the pumpkin is a paid addition rather than something the ticket includes. Booking in advance saves £2 a head against gate prices, and sessions do sell out, half term and the Friday evenings first.

On site there is an undercover carving barn, a Pumpkin Village, and the Pumpkin Cafe serving hot drinks, seasonal snacks and treats, with s'mores toasting available. Indoor toilets and free parking on weatherproof hardstanding take some of the sting out of an October day.

Two things are worth knowing before you set off. Dogs are not allowed on the pumpkin patch or in the carving area. And PYO Pumpkins is a separate event from the PLAY@ play barn, which is not included in your ticket, although you can ask about upgrading on arrival, subject to availability.
