This Halloween, Watermouth Castle transforms into a world of nightmares with its brand-new immersive scare experience, Descend Into Darkness. Set inside the eerie grounds of this Victorian castle overlooking the North Devon coast, brave visitors are invited to step beyond the safety of daylight and into a terrifying after-dark journey.

Face your fears in the Bad Barnyard, where twisted farmyard creatures lurk, before battling through the Z Factor, a zombie-infested zone that will test your nerve. Wander into the Cursed Forest, where shadows whisper and dangers stalk from every corner, then steel yourself to enter the Haunted Castle, with its chilling passageways and heart-stopping surprises. For those who dare, the Carnival of Clowns delivers twisted laughs and unsettling thrills in equal measure.

With live actors, special effects, jump scares and immersive sets, each zone promises an adrenaline-charged experience that pushes visitors to their limits. The full route lasts around an hour, plunging you into complete darkness, relentless tension, and unrelenting frights.

Descend Into Darkness is not for the faint-hearted. This event is strictly for ages 12+, with under 16s needing to be accompanied by an adult. Expect simulated gore, sudden scares and an atmosphere designed to leave you looking over your shoulder long after you leave.
