All aboard for a day of family fun! Thomas the Tank Engine, one of The Biggest Friends of All, is hosting a fun-filled event for families and friends. Take a train ride with Thomas, enjoy some live entertainment, arts and crafts, a chance to say hello to Sir Topham Hatt and so much more. Sodor’s station sweepers, Rusty & Dusty will also be there!

What is Day Out With Thomas?
Day Out With Thomas™ is a family event that gives Thomas fans and their families (young and old), the lucky opportunity to meet with the classic storybook character, Thomas the Tank Engine! Only at select heritage railways across the UK and in The Netherlands.

Will Thomas be there?
Yes! Having travelled all the way from the Island of Sodor, Thomas has come to meet fans and their families!

Will Sir Topham Hatt be there?
Yes! Sir Topham Hatt has taken take time away from his busy schedule as director of the railway to meet Thomas fans and their families. Sodor’s station sweepers, Rusty & Dusty will also be there!

How will I receive my tickets?
All Day Out With Thomas tickets are issued as e-tickets and a confirmation email will be sent to you including a PDF attachment - these are your e-tickets. Please either print at home or have the PDF ready to show on your mobile device at the entrance.

What’s included in the ticket price?
Your tickets include access to all activities at the Railway, including at least one ride behind Thomas. Activities that are offered will vary per site, so please check the relevant site event page for more information on what to expect.

What is your refund policy?
Tickets purchased online are non-refundable and non-transferable unless the event has been cancelled and an alternative date is not suitable. 

If an event is cancelled, please contact 0343 208 1841 or info@quaytickets.com for information on booking an alternative date or receiving a refund. Please note that booking fees are also non-refundable.

How much is the transaction charge and booking fee?
All transactions will include a non-refundable 0.75p transaction charge and a non-refundable 10% booking fee (8% on Family discount).

Can I book for over 9 people?
If you would like to book for over 9 people, please call the box office on 0343 208 1841 so it’s ensured that all of your tickets are processed together.

Should we purchase tickets in advance?
Due to the popularity of Day Out With Thomas, purchasing tickets in advance is highly recommended as it will sell out quickly! 

Is there assigned seating on the train?
Yes, at selected venues tickets may be assigned to a specific train time or seat.

How long will the train ride be?
The train ride durations vary depending on what site you’re visiting. Please check the relevant railway event page for more information.

What if there is bad weather?
Rain or shine, Day Out With Thomas events will take place regardless! But some activities are outdoors, so make sure you dress appropriately.

Are cameras allowed?
Absolutely! Guests are encouraged to snap a pic of their Day Out With Thomas memories and share it online too! Don’t forget to tag your photos with the hashtag #DayOutWithThomas.

Will there be food available?
A variety of food and drink will be available for purchase. What’s offered will vary per site. Please visit the railway’s website for more information.

Are pushchairs permitted?
Yes! Day Out With Thomas is a family event that welcomes guests of all ages. With a designated Buggy Park where pushchairs are be stored during the train ride. Please note, in some venues the Buggy Park is unsupervised, and items are left at the owner’s risk. The event promoter will not accept liability for any loss of items on the day.

Is the event accessible for disabled visitors?
Many of the railways holding Day Out With Thomas events are accessible for all visitors. Please refer to your chosen railway for information on disabled access.

Are pets allowed?
No, pets are not allowed at Day Out With Thomas.
