Twinlakes Park - Extra Stop

The entrance is very well-kept with lovely hanging baskets. The park is quite large so a map was definitely needed to see what is in the different areas.

There is lots to do here, from farm animals to fair ground rides and soft play! The kids were kept entertained during our trip with lots of child-friendly rides aimed at 80cm and above. There unfortunately wasn’t many rides that younger children can go on with adult supervision.

Lots of the rides here are for children 80cm-140cm, meaning they cannot ride with an adult. As you pay more for adults than children this impacted our opinion on the park in terms of value for money (although under 95cm were free so you can save some money here depending on your child’s height).

The facilities here felt slightly run-down, particularly the toilets. However the buccaneers soft play area had a newer area with some amazing drop slides, a water ride and a high ropes play area on the roof! This area is excellent for older children but unfortunately wasn’t suitable for my toddler as it was dark with a lot of UV lights so he wasn’t too keen.

We did not have time to go around the farm or in the splash park but these are also lovely additions to extend the day here at the park.

We went mid-week and the park was almost empty, which was excellent for getting on the rides as there was no queue times. However, the rides weren’t individually staffed and one member of staff was running a few rides within an area so if you couldn’t find a member of staff you couldn’t go on the ride.

There are lots of picnic areas if you want to bring your own (including indoor spaces for this which is excellent for rainy weather). There are cafes in each soft play area which are priced as expected (£6.40 for a kids meal). There was not much choice for adult snacks or small meals, mainly jacket potatoes, hot dogs etc. and no sandwiches for adults.
