We had a fabulous time camping at Lee Abbey, along the coast in Devon. The girls enjoyed the beach, a day trip to Exmoor Zoo and sledging down hills in cardboard boxes! Lots of goats and sheep wandering about the grounds, too :) The Zoo itself was fab and has an adventure playgrpund, which helped to break up the walking. After our packed lunch and refueling, we kept going. We were there about 4 hours! Lots of animals to see and a walk through aviary with the cutest little turtles.

Our Arrival & First Impressions

Animal

Lovely and clean. Welcoming staff. Bigger than I initially thought.

The only toilet is by the cafe, so bare in mind if with littles who suddenly, desperately need to pee.

Activities Breakdown

The adventure playground is fab. Really helps break up the day. Picnic benches and grassy areas to sit.

Overall Verdict & Ratings

A* Tried & Tested - Day Out With The Kids
Safety & Cleanliness5.0

Lovely, didn't see any rubbish about. Toilets were clean.

Rides & Entertainment5.0

A fab day out. The girls loved and wanted to stay in the playground, so we got a nice rest from walking.

Food & Drink3.0

Didn't order anything from there, so not sure what they offer. But was glad to have a picnic space.

Queues & Crowds5.0

Very few crowds. Lots of viewing points.

Fun & Delight5.0

Girls thoroughly enjoyed, and us adults, too.

Value for Money4.0

Happy with what we paid.

The Final Verdict:

A fab day out. A shame we don't live closer. But for passing through or those closer to those sides, would defo recommend. Lots of animals we haven't seen at other UK zoos.
