Let’s get the show on the road! 2018 is here, and with it are plenty of mouth-watering movies that will have parents and kids staring at the screen in awe. There are star-studded casts and much-awaited sequels (one fourteen years in the waiting!). So grab some popcorn, find your seats and get ready to be dazzled by the silver screen, as we reveal our top picks of the new kid's films in 2018. We've even lined up some relevant days out so you can keep the movie magic going. Lights, camera, action!

  1. Early Man, 26th January 2018

    From the creators of Wallace and Gromit comes the much anticipated Early Man. This is a film about a plucky caveman called Dug and his friend Hognob, as they try to protect their clan from the enemy; The Bronze Age! Early Man will have the whole family giggling, and this hand-crafted stop-motion production will blow you away with its detail.

  2. Peter Rabbit, 16th March 2018

    Peter Rabbit’s story is still going strong 120 years on from his creation. Come and see if this furry rebel can win the affection of Bea, or whether the mean new neighbour, Mr McGregor, will get in his way. This new kids’ film is bound to bring back memories from your childhood, so why not create some new memories with your kids too?

  3. Sherlock Gnomes, 11th May 2018

    Following on from the successful Gnomeo & Juliet, Sherlock Gnomes catches up with your favourite characters from the original. A string of kidnappings have taken place and the group seeks out Sherlock Gnomes to solve the case. This charming animation is a great way to introduce your kid to the cinema.

  4. The Incredibles 2, 13th July 2018

    Fourteen years on from the original release of this Pixar classic the Incredibles are finally back on the big screen. The sequel follows Elastigirl, after a series of unforeseen circumstances, she must save the day whilst Mr Incredible has to deal with his biggest challenge yet; solving the problems of his three children. Show your kids the wonderful world of the Incredibles and discover what’s in store for the Parr family.

  5. Smallfoot, 5th October 2018

    Yeti or not, the humans are coming! Migos stirs up his community when he discovers that humans exist, and he tries to make them believe in the mythical small footed beings. This charming animation looks like it’s going to a be a real hit out of the new kids' films being released this year, so make sure your family is there when it first comes out!

  6. The Nutcracker and the Four Realms, 26th October 2018

    From the creators of Beauty and the Beast, this Disney film will have parents and kids on the edge of their seats. All Clara wants is a key, a one of a kind key that will let her access a priceless gift left by her late mother. The search for the key takes Clara into a parallel world with three realms; the land of sweets, land of flowers and land of snowflakes. On the journey, you’ll meet talking mice, extravagant royalty and gingerbread soldiers! This film is a must-see for dancing and Disney fans, and a top choice for new kids' films the whole family can enjoy.

  7. The Grinch, 9th November 2018

    Still being kept under lock and key we don’t know too much about the reboot of The Grinch. In late 2017 a poster revealing the smaller animated version of The Grinch was released, but other than that Illumination (the crew that brought us Despicable Me) are keeping the information about the film tight-lipped. The Grinch is believed to follow the exact story of the original story, but with added cuteness, twists and turns. We’re looking forward to seeing this one, and can’t wait to find out more!

  8. Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald, 16th November 2018

    The Harry Potter prequel Fantastic Beasts has transformed into its own fantastic franchise. Take your kids to the cinema to experience the magic you enjoyed watching in the original movies. Newt Scamander, a magizoologist, sets off on a quest to help a young Albus Dumbledore foil Grindelwald’s plan to eliminate mudbloods from the magical world. Kids will love meeting these magical creatures, and they’ll be casting spells long after the film ends.

  9. Ralph Breaks the Internet, 30th November 2018

    Wreck it Ralph will be returning to our screens this year. He is now best friends with Vanellope, and in their arcade they find an internet router. They travel through the router to the internet and embark on an adventure. Only six years old, the Wreck it Ralph franchise is a real family favourite. Follow clumsy Ralph, and his sharp and sassy friend Vanellope as they do what they do best; break things!

  10. Mary Poppins Returns, 21st December 2018

    Practically perfect in every way, Mary Poppins, the classic children's character is making an appearance this December. Michael suffers a personal loss, and Mary Poppins returns to help Michael and his family get through their torrid time. This looks like a heart-warming tale that parents and kids will adore. Plus, it’s absolutely packed with supercalifragilisticexpialidocious stars.
