Why you should take a short family break

Time with our children is precious; we’re all trying to squeeze in a few extra minutes here and there, and between work and after-school club it’s tricky. So, instead of attempting to stuff more hours into the day, why not go the whole hog and book a short family break?

Where will your getaway take you? We’ve got loads of fantastic family escapes near some the biggest family theme parks in the UK like Alton TowersChessington World of Adventures and LEGOLAND, where rides, shows and costumed characters are raring to go.

Fancy something a little more low-key? You could take a weekend break in the countryside of Warwickshire or Leicestershire – would you choose a hotel or camping out in nature? Meet animals from all over the world or someone from your kids’ favourite cartoon cast, all while spending quality time with the people you love best.

The great thing about family weekend breaks is that you can properly bed in. There’s no stress about travelling back late at night, and package offers make catering for your little ones easy-peasy. It might mean a few early starts but after a day of dashing around a farm park or zorbing your way to victory, you’ll all be ready to tuck up at 7pm!

Memories are what make a family, and weekends away with the kids are the best time to conjure them up. Remember the time Mum left one of the bags at home so the kids spent the whole weekend wearing Dad’s giant t-shirts? What about meeting Mickey, or when that llama chased everyone around the park, demanding treats?! Memories are yours for the making on any one of these short family breaks; just grab the kids, pack your toothbrush and take your pick.
